The Duck Fable

In the style of Aesop’s Fables

Once upon a time a young man stumbled upon 2 ducks outside of a pond. A green headed drake in pursuit of a hen. They were both in the tall grass, but the curious young man was easily able to find them. That is when he had a hunch that the behavior he saw was in keeping with most animals in fall, mating season. “Are you trying to mate?” the young man observed. “Yes of course the green head replied”. “Look at these feathers” he replied lustfully as he felt them with his wings as she sat silent. “They are soft here and then hard there. Not the most beautiful I have eer laid my eyes on though. “Then why not wait for the true beauty?” The young man asked. The duck didn’t take his eyes off the hen but did reply to the question. “Because she is what I have now, and I need something to satisfy my sexual desires at once.” The hen immediately got up, quacked angrily, and flew away. You betray yourself when you behave like an animal. When you use the other as a sexual gratification object, you really use yourself.
